Emkey Arthritis and Osteoporosis is seeking an experienced Practice Administrator to lead our rheumatology practice through operational excellence and growth. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day operations, financial performance, and staff development while ensuring exceptional patient care.

About the Role:

As Practice Administrator, you will oversee all aspects of practice management, including billing, bookkeeping, compliance, and staff supervision. You will play a critical role in transition management and process improvement as we continue to evolve and expand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations, staffing, and scheduling for a multi-provider rheumatology practice.
• Oversee billing and revenue cycle management, including infusion therapy and rheumatology-specific billing.
• Utilize NextGen EHR and practice management software to optimize workflows.
• Perform basic bookkeeping and assist with budgeting and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements.
• Lead transition initiatives and implement strategies for efficiency and growth.
• Recruit, train, and supervise administrative and clinical support staff.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an Office Manager or Practice Manager in a medical setting.
• Proven experience managing 1–4 provider practices.
• Strong background in billing and revenue cycle management, including specialty billing for infusion therapy.
• Proficiency with NextGen software.
• Basic bookkeeping experience in a medical practice setting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Rheumatology or specialty practice experience.
• Familiarity with infusion workflows and medication billing.
• Experience with transition management and practice growth initiatives.

A small private rheumatology practice in Wyomissing, in the heart of Berks County Pennsylvania, is seeking a compassionate rheumatologist to join the small group.  The practice has a long history of excellence in the community and is very well respected, with a significant and well-established referral base.  There are no evening or weekend office hours, and there is an affiliation with Reading Hospital, where there is limited inpatient call shared among several local rheumatology practices.  There are teaching opportunities with regular rotating residents and medical students from a local medical school.  The practice has a nationally recognized clinical research program, as well as an active infusion center that is highly regarded in the area.  Practice ancillaries include DEXA / VFA with body composition analysis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and a digital x-ray.
